Become a Volunteer with South Mecklenburg County FCA

Volunteer Impact Portal (VIP)

The VIP is FCA's volunteer platform that allows us to enhance how we engage, equip, and support you in your vital role as an FCA volunteer. As our ministry continues to grow, we want to ensure you have the training, resources, and support needed to make a lasting impact.

If you are connected with an FCA Representative and received your VIP program link, please continue to the Steps below.

Step 1: Onboarding

*If you need help or have questions at any point in your journey, please contact your local FCA Representative.

You are ready to begin!

*Please contact your FCA Representative to let them know you have completed this part of the VIP Journey. After your FCA Representative reviews your completed application, they will contact you to discuss next steps. If you’re approved to continue, the next step in your journey is Training.*

Step 2: Training

Watch for Email from Asurint.

Once your FCA Representative approves your application, you will be sent an email from the Asurint, company that is contracted to provide background checks (this is different than the PA Clearances you also need to submit). Click on the link and fill out the simple form. This is a time sensitive email.

Log into your account.

Your account dashboard will show a list of the training courses you are required to complete. The number of required training programs is dependent on the role you are applying for.

After completing each training program, return to your dashboard for instructions on the next required course.
  • Your previous FCAU training completions should appear in the VIP system. Please notify your FCA Representative if completion of a training program is not reflected on your dashboard.
  • Please note that Child Abuse Prevention Training is mandatory for all applicants. This training is part of FCA’s national application process. Because state requirements for mandated reporters (such as teachers and coaches) vary, FCA has implemented a standardized training program for all volunteers. While we recognize that Pennsylvania mandated reporters are already required by state law to complete abuse prevention training, FCA requires every volunteer—regardless of state—to complete the FCA Abuse Prevention Program as part of the application process.
  • Please be sure to click on the button at the end of the video to confirm that you have completed the video. This is a commonly missed step.

Frequently return to the dashboard frequently for your next steps.

Step 3: Finalize

  • Confirm that you have completed all the required tasks on your dashboard
  • Notify your FCA Representative that you have completed the VIP Journey

Visual of the VIP Process Detailed Above:

Multiple Steps, One Purpose

Safety, Integrity, Excellence

To ensure that anyone representing FCA is a safe, responsible, and trusted leader, all volunteers undergo an approval process. This process helps us maintain the safety, integrity, and excellence of our programs and the people we serve.

Multi-Step

There are several steps to becoming an FCA volunteer through the VIP program. While it may take a little time to complete, this process is a significant part of how we ensure the safety, accountability, and excellence of our FCA volunteers, participants, and programs alike. This process can be completed in a single sitting.

VIP Progress

VIP will track your progress along the way, so you’ll always know where you are in the process. If you have questions or need help at any point, our staff is here to assist you.
